Tours of the Garden founder's home had focused on its furnishings. My team and I conducted original research into the building's structure and the founder's enslaved workers. We revised the interpretive and  furnishings plans to tell stories about the founder's inspiration, his correspondence with scientists, and his paid and enslaved workers. We also designed a docent training curriculum and conducted the first training sessions.
